My definition of the word DIVA

Hello world,

I am venturing into the world of personal blogging for a few reasons but before I go into them I think its best that I explain the title of my blog.

The name Diva conjures up images of tantrums and phone throwing… This is not what I mean by Countdown to becoming a Diva Bride.

The literal definition of DIVA is “goddess” and someone who has enjoyed great popular success but my meaning is happy within herself, confident, uncompromising, successful and radiant.  With this said, a great example of the word DIVA is touring Adelaide in December 2012 – Jennifer Lopez

 Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer has always looked radiant and comfortable in her own skin and Jennifer has worked very hard to get the body and success she has had.

There is nothing this chick can’t do if she puts her mind to it and with that, I plan on doing the same.

My wedding is in 4 months and 13 days and not only do I want to fit into my dream wedding dress, I want to be happy, healthy and successful! So they always say write a diary to keep yourself on track with your goals, well… this is my diary.

Let’s get this straight though, this isn’t a food journal, though there will be some great recipes that I have found along the way.

This blog, is simply… just me… trying to find my inner diva whilst also planning a big, kick ass wedding whilst trying to kick start my career, whilst trying not to drive my fiancé insane!

Simple really… Right?

Now let me introduce myself.

My name is Natascha and I am a procrastinator and I will be getting married in just over 4 months. Though I have actually organised most of my wedding (to my own surprise) I have left the tough task of looking and feeling great on my wedding day until the last minute… as usual.

My fiancé and I are huge food and wine lovers, I work in food Public Relations and he works in Advertising and the two of us have an appetite for all the excesses in life.

So over the last 3 years I have grown from a size 10 to a size 16! Wow that was tough to write but yes it’s true. It’s easy to skip going to the gym and stay home drinking a glass of wine or three with your fiancée because you know he will love you regardless. It’s simple meeting people for a cocktail or 10 after work to gas bag about clients. So yes, I have set myself a 20 kilo challenge. In saying that, if I am doing my best at all times to achieve the best results in a healthy way, then I will be happy with my results regardless.

So enough about me… How are you?
